Call 502-426-4536Whether it’s a furnace that quits in a Victorian on St. James Court or an AC that can’t keep up in a third-floor apartment off Fourth Street, Air Comfort of KY gets you comfortable again fast. Our technicians repair, maintain and install furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners and ductless mini splits, and they give honest repair-or-replace advice. As a second-generation, family-owned company, we’ve served Louisville homeowners for 50 years.
Old Louisville has three kinds of homes, and each has its own comfort challenges.
Victorian mansions. Most of Old Louisville was built between the 1870s and early 1900s, long before central heating and air. Tall ceilings, multiple stories, plaster walls, ornate woodwork, and solid brick construction make new ductwork hard to run. Third floors and finished attics often bake in summer while lower floors stay cool. Ductless mini-splits and zoned systems heat and cool these homes without tearing into the details that make them special.
Homes converted to apartments and condos. Many of the neighborhood’s big houses are now divided into units, often with aging equipment tucked into closets, attics, or basements, or one system trying to serve spaces that need their own controls. We size and install systems that fit the space and give each unit reliable comfort.
Carriage houses and additions. Backyard carriage houses, rear additions and enclosed porches usually have no ductwork at all. A ductless mini-split is the simplest way to make them comfortable year-round.
Old Louisville is a historic preservation district, so where the outdoor equipment goes matters. We’ll plan placement that keeps units out of sight from the street whenever possible. We also help with AC breakdowns during summer heat waves, no-heat calls during winter cold snaps, sticky and humid summer air, and hot or cold rooms in attics, sunrooms, and enclosed porches.
We serve all of Old Louisville, including:
